Cells in any organism are in a constant attack of different environmental threats. From damage due to mechanical, chemical or radiation means, cells need mechanisms to respond and adapt to those environmental threats. A consequence of such continuous threat is the need to establish a control mechanism to detect cells damaged beyond repair or small unnoticeable damages that could accumulate when cells divide.
